Counseling Internship

Crucible Counseling Center Description of Services:
Crucible Counseling Center provides a low cost option for those that are seeking Christian counseling. Assessment counselors initially meet with a client for one or two sessions to obtain an understanding of a client's situation and needs, and to identify resources, both within the church and out in the community, that may be helpful in addressing and resolving a client's difficulties, and in fostering a client's spiritual growth. The assessment is always a flat fee of $20. When available, Crucible also provides limited opportunities for short-term counseling provided by graduate interns. These opportunities typically involve eight to twelve 50-minute sessions.  The cost for these sessions is determined on a sliding scale fee of between $5 - $20 dollars based on household income. All fees are payable by cash or check only. If it is determined that long-term counseling may be more beneficial to a client, Crucible's counseling staff will assist the client in finding a local professional Christian therapist. Internship Requirements
1. Student must have completed a Masters level practicum experience in Mental Health  Counseling or Marriage & Family Counseling.
2. Complete and return internship application
3. Successfully complete interview process
4. Agree to carry a caseload of at least 15- 20 clients
5. Agree to see clients at least two evenings or one evening and Saturday each week during internship
6. Facilitate or co-facilitate one support/recovery group per semester
